As graphic designers, we design visuals that can be printed on many surfaces using a variety of production techniques. Such as debossed fabric, embossed leather, engraved wood, embroidered plastic, and UV printed metals. According to the conducted literature and visual research, interviews, observations, field visits, and surveys, what is currently missing is not the materials, nor the production machines, neither the designers’ passion of exploration, but rather a lack of a compiled reference. It is not rare to use materials for graphic design projects, nor that designers are ignorant of the fact that it is possible. It simply the fact that there isn’t a source that collects them all in one place. Instead of using the world as a catalog and to make choosing materials handy, I decided to collect the available local materials and production techniques for graphic design into individual swatch books, put together into a functional package.
